Purpose of Role
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the CBSE section, ensuring 100% compliance with CBSE by‑laws and circulars, excellence in teaching–learning, robust examination management (internal & board), accurate and timely portal submissions (OASIS, Registration, LOC, SARAS/Affiliation), staff capability building, and high stakeholder satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
A. Academic Administration
- Annual Academic Calendar for CBSE classes
- Curriculum & Scheme of Studies implementation as per CBSE guidelines and NEP.
- Lesson plans, unit plans, and subject pacing—review and adherence.
- Classroom observations; pedagogy standards; item analysis; remedial and enrichment interventions.
- Timetable design and subject allocations; ensure contact periods, labs, and load balancing; manage workshare arrangements to avoid unnecessary hiring.
B. Internal Examinations & Assessment
- Design and supervise assessment framework (PT/ CT,Term exams, IA/SEA, practical & projects).
- Approve blueprints, question paper bank protocols, moderation rules, and result tabulations.
- Publish results; ensure promotion policy is applied fairly; handle retests/illness/casualties as per policy.
C. Board Examinations (X & XII) – End‑to‑End
- LOC submission, admit card verification, and candidate briefing.
- Practical/Project/Internal Assessment planning: schedules, examiners, lab readiness, evidence records; timely mark uploads.
- If centre school: centre readiness, confidentiality room, CCTV, invigilation rosters, conduct protocols, dispatch, UFM reporting.
- Post‑result support: verification, photocopy, revaluation windows; result analysis and improvement plans.
D. Affiliation/Extension/Upgradation
- Plan affiliation milestones 6–9 months in advance.
- Validate land & building documents, governance documents, staff norms (qualifications & salary compliance), safety certificates, infrastructure adequacy.
- Prepare teams and documentation for Virtual/On‑site inspections; address compliance gaps through action plans.
E. CBSE Compliance & Portals
- Own all CBSE portal submissions and audits:
- OASIS: school profile, staff qualifications, student strength, safety certificates, transport compliance, infrastructure, library/labs.
- SARAS / Pariksha Sangam / Affiliation Portal: fresh/extension/upgradation/section increase/switch‑over applications; fee payment; inspection readiness; document accuracy and validity.
- Registration (IX & XI) and LOC (X & XII): subject mapping, CWSN concessions, photo/spec compliance, name/DoB verification, timely submission without late fees.
- Maintain a CBSE master file (physical & digital): affiliation letters, inspection reports, safety certificates (Fire/Building/Sanitation), transport records, staff service books, training records, time tables, lab & library registers, child protection and safety records.
- Track all CBSE circulars; issue actionable instructions; update school SOPs accordingly.
F. Staff Capability & Performance
- Lead CBSE academic team meetings; set targets and review performance.
- Identify training needs; ensure CBSE/COE mandated training hours; maintain certificates.
- Mentor Subject Coordinators and HODs; succession planning for critical roles.
G. Student & Parent Engagement
- Parent orientations, exam scheme, subject choices, board readiness, dos & don’ts.
- Oversee student discipline for academic issues; approve remedials and enrichment.
- Transparent processes for subject changes, attendance shortfall, special approvals.
H. CWSN & Safeguarding
- Identify CWSN cases; obtain documentation; apply for concessions; implement approved accommodations (scribe/reader, extra time, seating).
- Ensure compliance with POCSO, Child Protection Policy, ICC (POSH), and school safeguarding procedures.
I. Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Work with Admin/Transport for safety, GPS/bus compliance, CCTV, laboratories, science consumables.
- Coordinate with IT for portal operations, data integrity, secure exam printing.
- Partner with HR on hiring as per CBSE norms, service books, police verification, and training.
J. Data, Reporting & Audits
- Maintain dashboards: attendance, results, subject performance, training compliance.
- Submit monthly/termly reports to the Principal/Management.
- Lead internal audits once per term; ensure audit traceability for 3–5 years.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline + B.Ed. (mandatory).
- Minimum 8–12 years of teaching/academic leadership experience in a school;
Skills & Competencies
- Strong academic leadership, curriculum design, assessment literacy.
- Data orientation: result analytics, dashboards, action planning.
- Excellent documentation, policy writing, and process discipline.
- Deep knowledge of CBSE bye‑laws, circulars, exam regulations, NEP provisions, Scheme of Studies.
- Stakeholder management: teachers, parents, students, inspectors.
- High integrity, confidentiality in exam conduct, and crisis management.
- Proficiency with MS Office/Excel, CBSE portals, and school ERPs.
