Elementary Arts Teacher, Grade K-8
 
Purpose of Role
 
Montessori Academy of Broward, located in Pembroke Pines, Florida, is seeking a motivated and dynamic Elementary Arts Teacher who is committed to ensuring student achievement for all students in the classroom. Our students at Montessori Academy are held to very high expectations regarding both academic achievement and character development.
 
We invite motivated, innovative art teachers with experience in teaching art to apply to join our growing School for the 2025-26 school year and beyond. Applicants should have experience teaching in their discipline from K-8. Applicants with experience teaching in the discipline are highly encouraged to apply.

Elementary Arts Teacher, Grade K-8 Key Responsibilities
  • Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
  • Plan and deliver general art classes to groups of up to 25 students.
  • Responsible for preparing lessons and leading art class instruction for K – grade 8 school students.
  • Be able to introduce pupils to simple art concepts, such as the creative process, cultivating their talents while deepening their knowledge and understanding of art, design, and art history.
  • Design school art installations that promote creative collaboration and make school environment more personalized.
  • Manage student behavior and classroom routines to maximize learning time and create a positive classroom environment.
  • Build a world-class art program while cultivating a school environment which prioritizes aesthetics.
 
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
 
  • Must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Teacher certification and/or combination of equivalent education or experience
  • 2+ years of prior Art teaching experience.
  • Capacity to create curriculum creation if needed.
  • Must be able to produce at least two written professional references.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Must be proficient in educational technology and the arts. 
  • Collaborative practitioner who works well with colleagues. 
  • Must be proficient in art history. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with parents on a regular basis.
