 Position: Middle School Student Counselor
 Location: 262,VLB Engineering, College Road, Vivekanandapuram, Kovaipudur, Tamil Nadu641042
 Criteria
 ● A Master's degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
 ● Certification or license as a school counselor, or eligibility for certification (requirements vary by state).
 ● Previous experience in a school counseling setting, preferably with middle school students.
 ● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to students, staff, and parents
 effectively.
 ● Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
 ● Knowledge of child development, mental health issues, and effective counseling techniques.
 ● Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
 ● Proficiency in using computer software for record keeping, reporting, and communication.
 Key Responsibilities:
 ● Counseling Services:Provide individual and group counseling to students on issues such as personal
 development, stress management, social skills, academic challenges, bullying, and peer relationships.
 ● Crisis Intervention: Respond to urgent situations involving student safety and well-being. Provide immediate
 emotional support, and work with school leadership to manage crises.
 ● Academic Support:Collaborate with teachers and parents to identify students who may be struggling
 academically or emotionally. Offer guidance on study skills, time management, and school-related stress.
 ● Prevention Programs:Develop and implement educational programs focused on character development,
 anti-bullying, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, and mental health awareness.
 ● Parent and Teacher Collaboration:Maintain open communication with parents and staff to support students'
 emotional and academic growth. Organize parent meetings and teacher consultations to discuss student
 progress.
 ● Record keeping:Maintain confidential student records, tracking progress and providing reports when
 necessary. Ensure compliance with school policies and regulations regarding confidentiality.
 ● School Climate:Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive school climate by promoting respect, empathy,
 and understanding among students.
 ● Professional Development:Stay informed on current best practices in counseling, child development, and
 education. Attend relevant workshops, seminars, and training.
