Program Associate, Information and Media Practice

Description

IREX seeks a Program Associate to join programs that support independent media in Latin America.  The Program Associate will join the Information & Media (I&M) practice to support project teams that provide strategic and administrative support in the day-to-day administration of program activities. The PA will contribute to financial monitoring, logistics support, work planning and implementation of program initiatives, grants management, liaising between field and home office staff, communications, support to financial administration, and reporting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support with consultant agreements, logistics, and payments.
  • Provide backstopping to financial transactions, processing, and budget tracking
  • Assist in developing program material
  • Assist in developing a delivering internal and external program-related presentations and reports
  • Provide support to drafting and compiling of internal/external presentations, and website communications/impact stories;
  • Provides backstopping support to field staff;
  • Assist in event planning and coordination;
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and expense reporting for reconciliation and reimbursement;
  • Support program monitoring and evaluation, including data collection, analysis, presentation, and reporting;
  • Copy-edits reports and communication pieces as needed;
  • Other programmatic and administrative duties as assigned

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least one year of relevant experience
  • Experience with community development or media program (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently and as a team member with consistent ability to take initiative, meet deadlines within strict time constraints, and maintain a positive attitude and flexibility
  • Experience with budget tracking, contracts and subgrating (preferred)
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and spoken English is required
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish is required
