Description

IREX seeks a Program Coordinator to support programming for the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Initiative for our Leadership practice.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support oversight of project data collection, including participant applications, program documents, and reports
  • Compile and track a wide range of participant information and project data, maintaining accuracy and completeness
  • Update participant information and project data in program databases and create relevant reports for various project components
  • Develop expertise in project systems, ensuring that the systems are accurate and up-to-date and providing guidance and support of system use to team members
  • Provide guidance to partners and participants on project deliverables and policies.
  • Process and maintain procurement records and financial records; review payment requests and invoices for accuracy and compliance
  • Support procurement processes
  • Support management of international and domestic travel data for partners and participants
  • Support management of project email inboxes
  • Support M&E data collection and review
  • Provide support to social media and networking platforms
  • Assist in managing relationships with partner institutions, including corporate, non-profit, university, and government partners and vendors
  • Contribute to proposal development, project reporting, and project impact stories
  • Coordinate/assist in creation, management, and facilitation of project webinars/trainings/workshops/events
  • Provide logistical, travel, and operations support before, during, and after project events
  • Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum two-years of professional experience managing participant data for high volume, complex projects; international education, development, or similar program experience preferred
  • Experience in data management, including navigating database software, maintaining data integrity, managing records, and analyzing data
  • Experience working in and/or interest in developing capacity to support project systems including Salesforce, SharePoint, SurveyGizmo, MailChimp, Formstack, Canvas LMS, and Submittable
  • Experience managing travel and event logistics on a large scale, both internationally and domestically
  • Experience managing difficult situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Experience working in a multicultural and diverse environment
  • Demonstrated experience with financial tracking and budget management (preferred)
  • Familiarity with SEVIS (preferred)
  • Familiarity with U.S. Government grants (preferred)
  • Experience living, working, or studying abroad (preferred)
  • Experience in or related to Africa (preferred)

SKILLS

  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel (required)
  • Data management skills, including strong Excel skills and Salesforce (or comparable CRS/database) experience (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan strategically and creatively to meet specified objectives with strong ability to anticipate challenges and generate solutions
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member with consistent ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and be flexible with shifting priorities
  • Ability to provide reliable customer service to diverse stakeholders, such as funders, corporate and university partners, and international participants
