Temporary Manager, Financial Reporting

About the Role:
IPSY is looking for a highly motivated Temporary Manager of Financial Reporting with reporting, technical accounting, and hands-on general ledger experience who has the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to detail to join our Accounting team.
Please note: This is an temporary (through April 2025) position that reports to the Director, Accounting & Reporting and works closely with the general ledger team and departments within the company. The position is open to fully remote (from the 17 U.S. states where IPSY has a business presence), with preference given to those based near our Pembroke Pines, Florida office.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Perform technical accounting research, prepare technical accounting memos and communicate technical accounting conclusions to internal stakeholders.
- Provide interpretation of new GAAP rules and regulations and their potential effect on the business.
- Implement new accounting standards and ensure their proper application across the organization.
- Draft new accounting policies and update existing accounting policies as the business evolves.
- Perform contract review and evaluation of accounting implications.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, statements of changes in equity, and footnotes.
- Prepare analytic review of consolidated financial information and with the investigation of significant variances for review by management.
- Assist in the preparation and review of management reports generated from Company financial statements critical to the corporate decision making process.
- Assist with various aspects of month-end close and general ledger accounting activities, including but not limited to reviewing lease, debt and capitalized software journal entries and reconciliations.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
What We Are Looking For:
- Minimum 6 years of accounting experience – with a mix of public and private industry experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance – US CPA required
- Excellent understanding of US GAAP standards
- Experience with ERP systems (Netsuite is a plus)
- Audit and technical accounting experience is heavily preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Xlookup, Sumif, etc.) and the ability to quickly manipulate and analyze large data sets and build reports
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and remote environment
- Ability to work independently and diligently
- Strong communication skills required. Able to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner
- Proven technical understanding of financial accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP), and understanding of and ability to research and apply guidance

Salary Range: $50 - $60 /hour USD
Pay is based on several non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, skills, and location. IPSY offers a bonus, equity grants, and competitive benefits. Final compensation is determined by experience and skills.
