Responsibilities & Expectations: 

As a Production Supervisor with IPS, you will provide leadership to ensure the day-to-day execution of all production activities. To ensure consistent operation of all equipment and processes and the delivery of consistent products that meet all customer objectives and expectations by supporting the production staff to keep operations running.

Create, enter and maintain work orders through their life cycle within the company’s ERP system. Work closely with plant management including Finance, Engineering/Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, and Shipping/Receiving to ensure work orders align with all requirements.

  • Generate work orders based on sales and inventory needs
  • Work with Engineering and Sales to ensure all required part data is entered and available when jobs are initiated
  • Maintain part and job data within the ERP system to keep jobs flowing through production
  • Work closely with purchasing and Warehouse to fill job requirements
  • Ensure all job requirements are posted and properly costed
  • Proactively monitor all open jobs to keep business needs in alignment with shop activities
  • Follow jobs through production to ensure shop activities and ERP system are in alignment
  • Work with Engineering to ensure current processes and procedures are clear and efficient
  • Work with Sales to align customer requirements with company’s daily deliverables
  • Work with Shipping/Receiving to ensure all outside service shipments are processed and returned
  • Close work orders within ERP guidelines including maintaining location of finished products
  • Manage raw material (consumed/remaining) at job close out, ensuring proper locations are recorded
  • Reconcile inventory as part of job closure
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure inventory discrepancies are corrected
  • Run timely reports to verify data accuracy at job closure

 

Qualifications and Competencies: 

  • High School diploma required
  • Sharp analytical thinking and reasoning abilities
  • Strong ability to accurately follow instructions, both written and verbal, with limited guidance
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite as well as Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and take appropriate action
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to communicate technical data in a clear and concise manner
  • Must exhibit excellent written and verbal skills
  • Technical background with electrical and/or mechanical products is a plus
  • Prior knowledge or eager to learn an enterprise Resource Planning software
  • Critical attention to detail
