Responsibilities & Expectations:
Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a proactive General Accountant to support the site Controller in the financial operations including daily and monthly tasks. These tasks include general accounting, inventory accounting, customer invoicing, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Provide support necessary to plan for and achieve Service Center financial objectives
- Support Service Center staff and operating personnel with financial and operating matters
- Follow basic operating procedures within the IPS accounting framework to provide efficient and timely financial reporting by the Service Center
- Participate in regular monthly close, cycle and/or annual physical inventory count, observation, and valuation
- Daily processing of time cards and pay period reconciliations using the Company’s operating system
- Consolidate and reconcile Intercompany activity
- Post material stock entries to jobs
- Assist with collection of customer accounts
- Routine and ad hoc financial reports as requested by management
- Drive ongoing improvement by ensuring adequate internal controls and accurate reporting in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles
- Support administrative staff in general office activities such as filing, phone duties, mail, etc.
- Support and actively participate in Continuous Improvement Process Solution (CIPS) up to and including being the CIPS leader for the facility.
- Enter time cards
- Customer invoicing
- AP invoice entry
- Customer PO tracking/update ACS
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Minimum of three years’ experience in job related field
- Strong Knowledge of accounting, AP and AR processes
- Experience in month end close, AP & AR
- Associates degree in Accounting or related field required, BS Degree in Accounting preferred
- Sharp analytical thinking and reasoning abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to analyze and interpret data and take appropriate action
- Must be extremely detail-oriented with sound problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and maintain high degree of organization
- Poses excellent written, verbal and inter-personal skills
- Ability to proactively identify and develop effective solutions
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude
