Responsibilities & Expectations: 

 

The Transformer Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, and preparing 3-phase transformers. This includes the installation of components, performing electrical tests, and ensuring all work meets high-quality standards before the units are moved to the final testing area. The technician will work closely with the production team to maintain safety and efficiency in the manufacturing process.

  • Install transformer components
  • Prepare transformer tank
  • Lower the stacked coils into the tank
  • Fill tank with oil
  • Install switches and fuses and connect the leads
  • Perform tests to ensure correct ratios
  • Move equipment to final testing area

 

Qualifications and Competencies: 

 

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in manufacturing or assembly of equipment preferred
  • Technical certifications in electrical or mechanical fields a plus
  • Experience with transformers and electrical testing equipment a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, bend, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods
  • Comfortable working with machinery, hand tools, and in varying temperatures
