Responsibilities & Expectations:
The workshop technician carries out various tasks related to the repair, refurbishment, and maintenance of transformers and other medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment.
- Carry out tests on medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment:
- Technical assembly of power equipment;
- Perform transformer tests according to established protocols;
- Record test results on various computer forms.
- Carry out various tasks required to complete contracts:
- Prepare different mounting plates (drilling, component layout) with or without diagrams of how to arrange parts on the mounting plate;
- Assemble components (relays, transformers, terminal blocks, etc.);
- Control wiring on mounting plates according to electrical drawings;
- Assist with maintenance of production equipment as needed.
- Perform all other tasks required for the smooth running of operations.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- DEP electricity or DEC eletrical engineering;
- 1 to 3 years' experience in the electrical field (an asset);
- Good understanding of electrical schematics;
- Computer skills;
- Knowledge of English (an asset).
- Ability to communicate and work as part of a team;
- Rigorous, patient and fast-paced.
