A day in the life… 
Wondering what a day in the life of a Cytotechnologist at The Iowa Clinic might look like? 
  • Arrive at work in the morning – no night shifts here!
  • This position performs routine and special diagnostic procedures related to cancer detection.
  • Must examine cytology specimens; detect and dot pertinent cells; and develop and communicate a reasonable differential diagnosis.
  • Must have the ability to sign out gynecologic specimens that are negative for intraepithelial lesions or malignancy.

Qualifications 
  • The ability to prepare and maintain records
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A positive and team-oriented attitude
Required Licenses 
  • ASCP Board of Registry certified in cytotechnology, CT (ASCP) or eligible required. 
Other Requirements 
  • Graduate of an accredited 12-month cytotechnology training program.
