A day in the life…

Wondering what a day in the life of Patient Accounts Representative at The Iowa Clinic might look like?

• Handle patient billing inquiries, collect payments, and provide outstanding customer service.
• Research accounts, verify insurance benefits, and explain charges and balances.
• Process payments, refunds, adjustments, and assist with payment arrangements.
• Document account activity and maintain accurate patient records.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on account issues.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing policies while resolving billing discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address complex account concerns.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and billing systems while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate effectively, remain professional under pressure, and maintain strong attention to detail

This job might be for you if…

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ previous experience working in a medical office or billing environment with healthcare billing, insurance, or patient collections required.
• Awareness of medical terminology required.
