The Iowa Clinic has an exciting opportunity to be a part of a team that will open our new musculoskeletal-focused ambulatory surgery center. Conveniently located near I-80 in Waukee, this state-of-the-art, 21,000 sq. ft. ASC will offer same-day joint replacement, orthopedic, sports medicine, foot and ankle, pain management surgery and a cardiac catheterization lab in an out-patient setting. A Day in the Life of ASC OR Supervisor..

Under the direction of the ASC Director, the OR Supervisor plans, directs, facilitates, and evaluates clinical services provided by the ASC. The result of successful performance in this position is a highly motivated coordinated staff that provides service which is constantly changing to meet the needs of the patients. The OR Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the achievement of patient outcomes with the mission of the facility.

 Essential Functions:

  • Establishes vision/strategic planning for the clinical operations of the department and empowers staff to achieve these goals working closely with the ASC Director. 
  • Assumes fiscal responsibility for personnel, supplies, and equipment within department.
  • Manage staff, schedule, conflicts, equipment to assure the smooth delivery of quality patient care. Identifies problem areas in department and work towards solutions.
  •  Responsible for ancillary services within department – (Radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, safety, patient satisfaction, infection control, education)
  •  Promotes cost containment and efficient use of facility resources, demonstrates sound cost containment techniques, analyzes work area, and makes recommendations for potential cost-effective improvements, provides input regarding equipment needs/supply needs, develops capital budgets for department, coordinates purchasing of equipment/supplies to strive for the provision of optimum patient care within budget allowances.

 

Minimum Requirements:

·       Associate Degree in Nursing Program. BSN would be preferred.

·       Current RN license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa.

·       BLS & ACLS Certifications (American Heart Association)

·       2 Years RN experience in OR 

·       1-3 years supervisory experience in a medical setting
