A day in the life…

Wondering what a day in the life of a Revenue Cycle PSS Float II at The Iowa Clinic might look like?

• Support payment reconciliation processes by researching and resolving payment variances and discrepancies.
• Review and analyze payment posting activity to ensure accurate account balances and financial reporting.
• Manage payer and patient credit balance workflows, including researching, validating, and processing refunds.
• Investigate unapplied payments, overpayments, and underpayments, working with internal teams and payers to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with Payment Posting, Finance, Revenue Cycle, and payer representatives to address payment-related concerns and improve processes.
• Ensure compliance with payer requirements, organizational policies, and patient confidentiality standards.
• Assist with special projects and operational initiatives that require coordination across multiple departments.
• Contribute to process improvement efforts that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and financial outcomes.
• Foster a positive, professional team environment while supporting departmental goals.

This job might be for you if…

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle, payment posting, cash reconciliation, refunds, credit balances, or related financial operations role.
• Experience researching and resolving payment discrepancies, credit balances, or refund requests.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze payment and account information accurately.
• Experience working with insurance payers and healthcare reimbursement processes preferred.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare billing practices.
