Job Summary

 

Working in conjunction with Account Executive (AE) or Producer and following established industry and company guidelines; responsible for managing an assigned book of business; increasing account retention and new business support; and meeting all performance requirements regarding production, quality, and ensuring that no liability associated with errors and omissions occur. Responsible for strategic coordination and execution of day- to-day administrative and customer service activities for assigned accounts, and capable of resolving complex customer service problems, showing the ability for critical thinking and thought process in taking the next step in the best interest of the client, carrier partner and IOA. Serving as a subject matter expert for administrative, customer service and account management team key duties and responsibilities.

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Maintain high degree of technical competence and industry/market expertise
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment to ensure beneficial outcomes for clients and IOA
  • Serve as Account Manager Subject Matter Expert answering questions, providing support, and developing solutions to client problems for account team
  • Assist in directing day-to-day activities and workflow assigned to administrative, customer service and account management team that are performed on assigned book of business, which include delegation and prioritization of assignment/task, communication on performance expectations, and monitoring execution to ensure performance requirements and timelines are met
  • Management and execution of a variety of customer service and value-added service requests/inquiries including but not limited to: account activity; policy administration and insurance placement; billing activity; claims administration; coverage/loss analysis; contract review for insurability; review policy forms and endorsements; review audits; identify errors and facilitate corrective actions; Certificates of Insurance; Evidences of Property; and Cancellation/Reinstatements
  • Manage policy expirations for existing clients and work proactively to ensure appropriate actions are taken to facilitate renewals and ensure all new and renewal insurance policies are bound, billed and issued accurately and delivered to the Client/Insured within required timeframe
  • Manage new business and policy renewal process in conjunction with AE and/or Producer including but not limited to:
    • Conducting client research and gathering complete underwriting information
    • Conducting Loss Run Analysis
    • Preparing complete and accurate submissions including Acord applications and/or supplemental forms; sending out to market and/or performing Online Rating as required
    • Evaluating and negotiating coverages and pricing
    • Preparing and presenting Proposals
    • Binding coverage and complying with any subjectivity(ies) as required by carrier, Surplus Lines Association and/or IOA
    • Preparing and executing Premium Finance Agreements, when applicable
    • Diligent follow up for Policy Issuance
    • Review all policies, identifying and notifying AE or Producer of any discrepancies and ensuring that all necessary changes are submitted to and issued by the carrier
    • Maintaining accurate and complete policy transaction detail, schedules and Summaries of Insurance
  • Monitor Accounts Receivables reports and take action on any delinquent accounts along with collecting outstanding balances due
  • Maintain agency management system, other agency supported systems and carrier/vendor online platforms, ensuring all data entered is complete, clearly presented and well-documented, accurate, and up-to-date
  • Monitor and maintain activity/suspense, taking necessary action to ensure completion within required time frame
  • Maintain frequent, transparent communication with account team regarding individual and team client service and policy administration activities, ensuring that the AE or Producer is fully informed of workload status, questions, concerns and/or any errors, discrepancies or changes as it relates to the account and their insurance policies and facilitates appropriate/corrective actions
  • Deliver excellent service at all times, including proactively anticipating needs, maintaining frequent and professional communication, and responding quickly to service requests
  • Continually stay abreast of all company policies and procedures to ensure good knowledge, execution and compliance of standard operating procedures
  • Continually seek to improve individual and team performance, including identifying, communicating and adopting best practices

  • Regular and consistent attendance is expected and a necessary component to the job
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

What We’re Looking For:

 

      5+ years of account management experience; or 7+ years related experience in the insurance industry

      Has a very good working knowledge of insurance brokerage business and all clients’ needs

      All required active licensing

      At least one professional designation preferred, such as CIC or equivalent

      Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills

      Exceptional customer service skills

      Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills

      Outstanding verbal/written communication skills

      Ability to perform large work volumes with high degrees of accuracy and attention to detail

      PC proficiency, including basic knowledge of MS Office products, including Outlook, Word and Excel

      Exceptional personal character

      High School Diploma (or equivalent)
