Job Summary 

Working closely with their assigned team, the Account Manager Associate’s responsibilities will include processing endorsements, handling client inquiries, overseeing cancellations, addressing return mail, and responding to underwriter memos. A key focus of the role will be to begin learning the essential functions of becoming an Account Manager and start building relationships with their clients through a small book of business. Capable of independently resolving moderately complex customer service problems; showing the ability for critical thinking and thought process in taking the next step in the best interest of the client, carrier partner and IOA. Their ability to deliver outstanding customer service and contribute to the growth of these relationships will be essential to the success of their team.

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Process endorsements accurately, updating management systems as required.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries.
  • Manage email and fax correspondence efficiently.
  • Handle cancellations, reinstatements, and address any changes needed.
  • Manage return mail and update address/policy details as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with insurance companies and customers to fulfill underwriting requirements.
  • Prepare proofs of insurance promptly and accurately.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Managers to support servicing of books of business.
  • Maintain accurate records in the agency management system, review and bind renewals, remarket with admitted and surplus carriers as necessary, quote and bind additional lines of business as customer needs arise, increase account retention, and identify round-out opportunities, all part of learning the essential functions of account management.
  • Work effectively with our underwriters/carrier partners to proactively find creative solutions for customer needs.
  • Monitor the expiration, past due renewal, and A/R reports for your book of business to ensure timely and accurate servicing.
  • Maintain frequent and transparent communication with supervisor regarding any obstacles and issues affecting ability to meet performance expectations; seek, accept, and implement performance coaching.

What We’re Looking For: 

      3-5 years insurance experience or equivalent preferred

      State required insurance license is needed

      Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to resolve complex concerns

      Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, delegation and decision-making skills

      Outstanding verbal/written communication skills

      Ability to perform large work volumes with high degrees of accuracy

      PC proficiency, including MS Office

      Exceptional personal character, including a strong work ethic, positive attitude, ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and willingness to assist others at all times
