Warehouse Operations Manager

The Warehouse Operations Manager will be responsible for the daily operation of a 58,000 square foot warehouse servicing customers in North and South America.  This position will be responsible for all aspects of order picking, shipping, receiving, inventory, staffing and other functions pertaining to the successful operation of the facility.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage facility operation and personnel of a regional warehouse, overseeing daily picking, packing, auditing, shipping, receiving, cycle counting, kitting, light production, safety, and general operations management.
  • Motivate, supervise, coach, motivate, train, and evaluate warehouse personnel in the performance of their duties. Establish staffing requirements and coordinate personnel actions with Director and Human Resources; maintain related personnel and safety policies, records, and reports
  • Responsible for managing carrier relationships to ensure best performance and cost.
  • Develop and drive projects to improve warehouse efficiency.
  • Act as a primary point of contact with customer service to ensure orders are processed timely and accurately.
  • Work closely with central planning team to align on stock levels, inventory turns and other inventory related projects.
  • Coordinate and plan routine cycle count program and oversee an annual physical inventory count.
  • Establish and manage goals and metrics for team members to insure productivity and accuracy.
  • Manage preventative maintenance and repairs of warehouse facility and equipment.
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships for warehouse products, supplies and services, ensuring balance of best cost and quality / service.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business or another related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience storing and shipping dangerous goods
  • Experience managing transportation for domestic and international shipments including requirements for export to Canada and LATAM
  • Knowledge of UPS and FedEx parcel shipping programs
  • Capable of working with individuals at all levels of an organization
  • Independent and resourceful
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines
