The Global Director of Quality will be a valuable member of the Engineering/R&D leadership team and have responsibility for global development and oversight of Quality Assurance / Quality Control programs for all NPD, and China contract manufacturing supplier’s quality programs. In addition, this position will have responsibility for all Product / Process related Corrective / Preventive Actions, Continuous Improvement activities related to overall hardware/software product quality. This highly visible, hands-on role will work closely with the Operations, Contract Manufacturing Team, Global Suppliers, Software Development, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Category Management and New Product Development Teams.

This role will primarily focus on the establishment of the internal structure to drive improved quality throughout the hardware/software product development cycle as well as proper documentation processes, auditing procedures and supplier quality engineering procedures.

DUTIES:

• Responsible for Design Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Regulatory, and Testing programs.
Develop and manage Mass Production Audit Program
• Develop and manage Contract Manufacturer (I/IP/O OC) Quality Assurance / Control Programs
• Develop and manage Supplier Surveillance Programs
• Enhance and manage global CAPA Program utilizing 8D structure
• Leverage Technical Problem-Solving techniques to resolve quality issues (Shainin, Kepner Tregoe, etc.)
• Ensure quality communications are maintained at acceptable levels
• Generate scorecards for all suppliers and establish corrective actions
• Personnel and Team Development
• Manage the Quality Team through cross functional and shared KPIs
• 20-30% Travel to Asia required

EXPERIENCE:
• 5+ years of end-to-end global quality leadership in growth-oriented environments involving high quality globally manufactured products
• Proven track record of driving change, developing teams, and achieving goals
• Must have experience with Technical Problem Solving
• Establishment of, and experience with, quality performance metrics for all aspects of the supply chain (vendor scorecards, first time through, throughput yield cost of quality)
• Experience traveling globally
• Must have a strong drive for results with a demonstrated “sense of urgency”
• Knowledgeable about how organizations work and how to get things done across functional boundaries
• Must have experience in a matrix organization
• Experience in managing global quality systems including Quality Assurance, Quality Control (I/IP/O QC) and Returned Material Authorization processes
• Must have proven team building skills
• Must be able to manage by data and not opinion or emotion
• Must be able to multi-task and have strong organizational skills

Must have experience with Software Quality and Software Test Processes to support our software enabled hardware product lines; IOT is a plus


EDUCATION:
• BS Engineering or Quality related field required
• Quality certifications are very desirable
