SAP Skills

  • 2-4 years of experience in one or more SAP modules.
  • At least one full life-cycle implementation project (from Blueprint/Explore through Go-Live).
  • System upgrade activities and planning, OSS activities, including creating OSS messages, opening systems, maintaining SAP system data, updating new systems, etc.
  • Oracle DB activities, applying parameters at the database level.
  • Good knowledge of Linux & HPUX.
  • Knowledge of SAP Security activities is preferable.
  • SAP ECC SPS, EHP, NetWeaver Upgrade using SUM tool.
  • Knowledge of SAP AD ID integration - SSO - Single Sign-On Implementation using Kerberos authentication.
  • Experience in Manage Engine Ticketing Tool (Desired).

Responsibilities

  • System monitoring/health check activities and reporting to the management.
  • Complete SAP monitoring of application servers up & running, user logged in.
  • Monitor R/3 & Java-based systems - work processes and their completion status.
  • Monitor BG jobs periodically, logged users locally & globally.
  • Monitor system status, analyzing system logs, system traces, and RFC destinations.
  • Reporting problems like start-up, BG jobs, critical updates, work processes, system logs, ABAP dumps Memory issues, system/database tablespaces, workload, swaps & buffer monitoring, database alerts, etc.
  • Client Administration – Client creation, client copy, deletion, export & Import
  • Transport setup and Change Request Management, TR import & troubleshoot.
  • Schedule new background jobs and reporting for the issues & troubleshooting.
  • Installation of new R/3 and Java based systems in Unix & Windows based OS.
  • Perform post-installation activities on R/3 and JAVA-based systems.
  • Configure the logon load balancing, OP modes, SMLG, etc.
  • Apply support packages & add-ons, database patches & DB client updates
  • System performance monitoring and fine-tuning at SAP & Database levels.
  • Apply SAP LICENSE NOTE Sying NOTES auto and manually.
  • Solution Manager 7.2 Implementation, configuration, and administration.
  • Solution Manager system configuration, EWA reports generation & troubleshooting.
  • System Refresh/Copy activities with Oracle database
  • User Management - User Creation, deletion, users lock/unlock, extend the validity. 
  • Role Design & build: Creating new roles – Single role, Master, Composite & Derived roles.
  • Limit/delimitation of SAP roles to users
  • Analyze missing authorizations and assigning roles to users.
  • Role modifications, adjusting derived roles, adding T. Codes, new fields, values, authorization objects copied from Master role, etc.
  • Sybase 16.0 DB Upgrade, configuration, and administration 
  • SAP NetWeaver 7.5 Enterprise portal Upgrade and administration
  • SAP Content Server and Max DB database Implementation and administration.
  • SSO Certificate Configuration.
  • SAP Web dispatcher Installation, configuration, and implementation.
  • SAP Router Installation and Administration.
  • SAP Internal / External Audit - Quarterly and Yearly.
  • Secure protocol conversion HTTPS for SAP landscape ABAP and JAVA.
  • SSL Configuration for ABAP and JAVA systems.
  • SAP Role Clean-up and Recertification Activity for users.
  • SOD (Segregation Of Duties) Conflicts Clean-up and Administration for SAP users.
  • SAP Profile Parameter Maintenance. 
  • SAP Backup Maintenance and administration.
  • Monitor SAP Landscape Performance Issues.
  • Administer monthly OS and database level patching.
  • SAP DR BPC Drill - Disaster recovery.
  • Should have well conversant with incident and change management tools and methodologies.
  • Prepare and deliver project reporting data to the service delivery Manager as per project reporting requirements.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to communicate with others clearly and concisely.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Understanding of business processes for focus area or module.
  • Ability to do research and perform detailed tasks.

  • Understands business functionality related to SAP module/application as well as can identify touch points between modules.
