SAP BODS Senior Consultant

Responsibilities
- Lead and implement data conversion and migration sourcing data from various systems/databases and performing extraction, transformation and loading into target SAP systems.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert on BODS and Data Integration and Conversion methodologies and tasks during various phases of implementation.
- Document and guide the IT team and key stakeholders on data preparation, data loads, and extraction using templates.
- Identify and implement best performance-enhancing and industry-standard best practices to handle data integration and conversion processes.
- Implement processes to handle exceptions and failures during various stages of data migration and integration, as per the client's requirements.
- Design solutions to extract data from various SAP (e.g. SAP ECC) and non-SAP systems in initial and real-time data loads, posting in target SAP systems in various data formats for reporting (e.g. EDW, SAC) and updating standard tables.
- Implement various business rules to filter data, clean and validate data, and convert data to required formats for transformation into target formats.
- Participate in project planning, providing estimates, performing source-to-target mapping with BODS as middleware, writing DS scripts and using standard or developing custom functions.
- Create Data Services mapping to load the Data Warehouse using simple and complex transformations (e.g. Key Generator, SQL Query Transform, Validation and Merge etc) in Data Flows.
- Perform BODS Admin tasks to schedule, monitor, troubleshoot, and restart data integration/conversion and migration batch jobs.
- Work with data profiling tools such as SAP Information Steward to enhance data quality before loading into SAP.
- Develop technical specifications, testing documents, BODS development standards, and other documents required for various phases of the project.
- Develop Data Flows for performing data integration and migration for various file formats such as flat files, excel etc.
- Work with Central and local repositories, job servers, Web Admin, and Data Services Management Console for configuration and various data migration tasks.
SAP Skills
- 5+ years of experience with performing Data Integration and Conversion, developing Data Flows, and sourcing data from various SAP and non-SAP systems/databases and file formats.
- 5+ years of experience designing jobs, dataflows, workflows, datastores, complex transformations, working with XML/XSD/Flat file/IDoc formats.
- Strong experience configuring BODS using admin tools, and other resources to schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot data extraction, mapping, transformation, and loading into target SAP systems using various target data formats for reporting and database updates.
- 3+ years of experience setting up server repositories etc, configuring batch jobs, and designing data flows to handle large volumes of data for reporting into EDW and initial loading of new SAP systems with best performance standards.
Professional working experience implementing security rules preserving data integrity, security, and privacy at field level, and row level as required by the business. - 3+ years of Data Modeling experience using various schemas, Facts/Dimensions tables, etc.
- Strong experience troubleshooting background jobs, debugging data flows, and fixing issues related to performance and handling high data volumes.
- Experience leading BODS team during the full project lifecycle, including during cutover, go-live, and post-go-live phase.
- Tools - BODS 4.0 (Designer, Data Services Repository Manager, Data Services Server Manager, Management Console), Data Intelligence, SAP IS, SQL Server, SAP HANA, EDW Tools (SAP/non-SAP).
