Mine Maintenance Technician

Underground Mining Operation | 9/80 or Rotating 12-Hour Shift

How You Will Create Value

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems on underground mining equipment, conveyor belts, ore loadout equipment, and mobile and stationary diesel equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including lubrication, oil changes, inspections, defect identification, and verification that components are properly secured.
• Install, replace, and repair motors, chains, gearboxes, transmissions, differentials, and suspension components.
• Perform oxy-acetylene cutting, stick or MIG welding, and rigging procedures for safe lifting.
• Complete pre-shift inspections to confirm equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
• Support a 24/7 operation through rotating on-call coverage, overtime when needed, and other assigned maintenance duties.

What You Will Need to Be Successful in the Role

• High school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.
• At least two years of industrial maintenance experience; underground mining experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand electrical, structural, and hydraulic drawings.
• Ability to provide basic American-made mechanic hand tools in metric and SAE sizes up to 30 mm and 1 1/4 inches; Intrepid provides larger specialty tools.
• Strong mechanical knowledge, safe work practices, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Availability to participate in a rotating call-out schedule supporting a 24/7 operation.
