ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations (NEC, NFPA, IEC, ISA).
- Maintain power systems ranging from 24VDC to 12470VAC, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to both OSHA and Intrepid’s safety standards.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in machinery and systems to ensure efficient operations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals; create redline documentation as necessary using software such as Visio, LucidChart, AutoCAD, and SKM.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to minimize downtime and enhance reliability.
- Ensure strict adherence to Intrepid’s safety protocols and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and lockout tagout procedures (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials utilized, and any issues encountered during repairs or maintenance.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance personal and team performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid electrical license/certification in the state of Utah.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Availability for callouts as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
- OSHA 10HR training.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in industrial electrical work is preferred.
- OSHA forklift and bucket truck certifications.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to read and draw diagrams.
- Ability to install conduit and tubing.
- Knowledge of basic AC and DC control circuits
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, and industrial machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is typically performed outdoors in a non-temperature controlled environment. The employee:
- Is regularly required to lift heavy objects (50lbs <=) and work in confined spaces.
- May have to work at heights in a non-temperature-controlled environment and unpredictable weather conditions.
- Is regularly exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
- Is required to always wear safety attire and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Will frequently be standing, walking, sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching and grasping.
- Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders, work at heights on occasion, and perceive color differences

SCHDULE
- A 40 hour a week work schedule will be required with call outs as part of the job.
