Job Title: Surface Shift Supervisor
Reports To: Surface Superintendent
Location: New Mexico – North Plant

OVERVIEW

A Surface Shift Supervisor supervises plant production crews and processes to product quality products safely and efficiently. This position requires problem-solving and decision making skills, strong communication skills and the ability to lead others.

JOB DUTIES

  • Facilitates and enforces safety and performance initiatives of operations’ employees through safety meetings, job observations, policies and procedures, and development and training opportunities
  • Understand and monitor operating parameters, environmental operating parameters and ensure the reliability/compliance of various industrial plant equipment, including, but not limited to: compactors, crushers, belt conveyors, pumps, screw conveyors, product elevators, products screens, and air emission controls
  • Prepare operating reports (tons run, tons produced, down time, maintenance, etc.) and employee time records
  • Complete pre-shift inspections, as well as preventative maintenance and equipment clean up, to ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently, and report any safety hazards to appropriate personnel
  • Assign work in accordance with customer and production requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Minimum two (2) year general labor and/or industrial plant experience
  • Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to operate computer programs, including: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and ERP System (Ellipse)

SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
12-14 hour work days, rotating shift schedule. Working holidays is required if scheduled. Schedule subject to change.

  • Outdoors, in a non-temperature controlled environment, and subject to weather conditions
  • Exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels
    Employees are required to wear safety attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing, walking, sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders, and potentially work at heights, perceive color differences
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed and engage in strenuous physical activity

A pre-placement physical and hair follicle drug test will be required for anyone selected for this opportunity. Placement into the position will not be made until the results are received and cleared by Intrepid.
