POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor will oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and laboratory including but not limited to staffing, developing, implementing and maintaining a system of quality controls and data retrieval processes for adherence and continuous improvement of Intrepid New Mexico mined products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for ensuring the products and services supplied by Intrepid Potash New Mexico (IPNM) meet industry and company standards for quality, ensuring customer expectations are fulfilled.
Leads the IPNM quality process, ensuring compliance with published quality thresholds, industry standards and independent certification agencies.
Leads IPNM laboratory team championing a data centric approach to product specification adherence.  
Ensures IPNM culture, processes and craft skills are aligned with an overall quality program designed to consistently bring the best products to market with the least exceptions.
Supervises the correction of discrepancies in all areas that affect product quality, customer satisfaction, process efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Ensure all QA personnel are trained and proficient at their assigned tasks and will follow established standard procedures for the tasks they are performing.  
Monitors the quality of products and shipments and provides leadership and guidance when upsets or anomalies occur.
Work directly with operations to review quality non-conformance and implement changes to meet quality standards. 
Identifies and resolves safety issues related to the QA and Lab environment and processes.
Maintains compliance with federal and internal safety regulations.
Primary site-owner of IPNM’s Safe Food/Safe Feed and any other independent quality standard certification status.
Represents IPNM in any product quality and product certification audits that may occur, ensuring processes and documents are updated and aligned with independent agency standards and expectations. 
Represents IPNM Quality in any scheduled or unscheduled meetings with Intrepid Customer Service.  
Other duties as assigned.
 
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field or 2 to 4 years related experience and training or an equivalent combination.
Experience in a Safe Quality Food environment is required, Safe Food/Safe Feed experience is preferred. 
Experience in dealing directly with customers and product quality certification audit entities is preferred.
Prior experience as a departmental supervisor or lead is preferred.
Liaison experience representing Quality process with other internal teams is desired.
Knowledge of potash and fertilizer production, sales and product usage highly preferred.
Good written and verbal communications skills.
Able to read, analyze and interpret scientific data and information.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfortable with computers and electronic communication tools.

SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
9/80 schedule: Monday – Thursday, 9-hour workdays, Fridays worked, 8-hour workday, with every other Friday off. Schedule subject to change.
Work environment will vary from a climate-controlled office to loud processing and loadout facilities, construction sites and remote field locations
Noise levels will vary from low to high
Employees are required to wear safety attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) when applicable.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Job conditions require sitting up to 2/3 of work time, and hearing over 2/3 of work time. Standing, walking, using hands, reaching with hands, climbing and stooping up to 2/3 of the time depending on job responsibilities. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Up to 1/3 of the work time, the environment may consist of moving mechanical parts and high/precarious places. Typical noise levels vary from low to high (ex: business office, industrial and construction sites)

A pre-placement physical and hair follicle drug test will be required for anyone selected for this opportunity. Placement into the position will not be made until the results are received and cleared by Intrepid.
