Description
Pleasanton-based, Martindale-Nolo is currently looking for a hands-on, hard-working leader who will guide our inside sales team to success. The Sales Manager will lead and coach an inside sales team that uses consultative sales skills to understand the prospect’s needs and assess opportunities to partner together. This individual will work with Senior Management to execute strategic objectives and run the day-to-day operations for their inside sales team. This person is responsible for helping their team deliver on ambitious acquisition quotas, and roll up their sleeves to work directly with existing clients to exceed revenue and growth targets. The right candidate is an excellent communicator with a proven ability to train and motivate a diverse team, including entry-level and veteran sales professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a team of Inside Sales Representatives responsible for the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to onboarding and beyond
- Exceed team acquisition and retention quotas including consistent attainment of KPI standards
- Develop team members through personalized coaching plans and drive consistency through maintaining a high degree of success across individuals on the team
- Develop entry-level new hires through their ramp period and onboarding process through extensive hands-on training and coaching
- Assess the needs of our customers and gather user feedback to improve upon existing solutions and sales processes.
- Build team structure, recognize leadership potential, and support career development through enhancing capabilities within the team.
- Distribute and capitalize on inbound leads to the team in a timely and effective manner
- Ensure proper adherence to established workflow and appropriate utilization of sales tools and applications
- Successfully perform the same activities that sales reps perform on an as-needed basis.

- Proactive, can-do attitude, follow-through, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication skills, and people management experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to be personable yet persistent.
- Motivated by a short sales cycle and a deep sense of urgency
Professional Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 yrs of online sales, business development experience.
- Experience managing a team in a fast-paced, high-volume outbound phone selling environment.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience selling small to medium businesses, especially in the legal marketing and leads sectors
- Demonstrated, proven success in lead generation, prospecting, contract negotiation, and closing customers.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and CRM tools.
- Experience with Salesforce and Outreach is a plus.

We expect the base salary for this role to be between $55-72K, with a variable compensation plan, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
