Product Manager, AI Developer Tools
About the Role: We are building an AI-enabled software development lifecycle (SDLC) platform that fundamentally changes how developers write, test, and ship code. Our platform includes a custom fork of Visual Studio Code, deep integration with Cline for autonomous AI coding agents, and tight coupling with YouTrack and GitLab for spec-driven development workflows. We are looking for a Product Manager who will own the product vision, roadmap, and execution for this suite of AI developer tools.
This role sits at the intersection of developer experience, AI/ML capabilities, and enterprise tooling. You will work closely with engineering, AI research, and business stakeholders to ship products that make our 1,000+ developers dramatically more productive.
What You’ll Own:
- AI-Enabled IDE Platform
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for our Visual Studio Code fork, including custom extensions, AI-powered features, and developer UX.
- Define how Cline’s autonomous coding agent capabilities integrate into developer workflows – from code generation and refactoring to automated testing and code review.
- Drive the vision for intelligent code completion, context-aware suggestions, and multi-file AI edits that go beyond basic copilot functionality.
- Spec-Driven Development Workflow
- Design and own the end-to-end workflow connecting YouTrack issue specifications to AI-generated implementation plans, code generation, and GitLab merge requests.
- Define how AI agents translate product requirements and technical specifications into actionable development tasks with automated validation.
- Build feedback loops between code review outcomes, test results, and spec refinement to continuously improve AI-assisted development quality.
- Developer Productivity & Metrics
- Establish and track key productivity metrics (cycle time, code quality, developer satisfaction, AI adoption rates) across the platform.
- Run experiments and A/B tests to validate AI feature impact on real developer workflows.
- Build internal developer advocacy programs to drive adoption and gather continuous feedback from engineering teams across all brands.
What We’re Looking For:
Required
Required
- 5+ years of product management experience with at least 2 years focused on developer tools, DevOps platforms, or AI/ML-powered products.
- Deep understanding of the modern software development lifecycle – version control (Git), CI/CD, issue tracking, code review, and deployment pipelines.
- Hands-on familiarity with AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cline, Cursor, Aider, or similar) and a strong point of view on where AI-assisted development is headed.
- Experience with IDE ecosystems, particularly VS Code extension development and the broader VS Code architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to ship developer-facing products that achieve strong adoption in enterprise environments.
- Technical depth sufficient to engage productively with senior engineers on architecture decisions, API design, and system integration trade-offs.
- Strong analytical skills with experience defining and tracking product metrics for developer productivity.
Preferred
- Experience with agentic AI systems, multi-agent orchestration, or autonomous coding workflows.
- Familiarity with YouTrack, GitLab, or similar ALM/DevOps toolchains and their APIs.
- Background in large language model capabilities and limitations, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, or fine-tuning strategies.
- Experience working in large, multi-brand organizations with diverse engineering teams and varying technology stacks.
- Understanding of healthcare or legal technology domains and their specific compliance and quality requirements.
- Previous startup or 0-to-1 product experience building new platforms from the ground up.
