About the Job 
We are currently seeking an early career Scientist in our Investigation and Remediation business area. Preferred disciplines are hydrogeology/geology, but engineers with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be a detail‐oriented, well‐organized, and experienced individual who can apply technical expertise to client projects involving contaminated sediment and upland soil sites and groundwater investigations. The candidate will have rich and varied experience in site investigation, have a high degree of technical competence, and be able to support multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will take direction from clients and senior leadership and ensure that tasks are executed on time and accurately by the project team. The position requires some travel (fieldwork) and may offer in-office, remote, or hybrid opportunities based on the candidate’s location and the needs of the organization.   

Responsibilities 
Your job functions will include, but not be limited to: 

  • Implementing hydrogeologic investigations, including site characterization, field sampling programs, and data evaluations
  • Conducting field sampling and/or sampling oversight
  • Managing budgets and tasks
  • Writing technical reports 

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a B.S. or M.S. degree hydrogeology, geology, environmental science, environmental or civil engineering, or related technical field. 

  • 3+ years of professional experience with remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial design
  • Experience developing and executing environmental field sampling plans  
  • Proficiency with current Microsoft® Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • A desire to grow intellectually and professionally
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers 

Annual Salary Range: $75,000–$90,000 

Compensation is commensurate with experience and internal equity, within the listed range. An employee’s total compensation package includes annual salary, company-subsidized (employee and family) medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) participation with a company match of 1% to 4% of annual compensation, company-paid life and short- and long-term disability insurance, paid sick leave (10 days), paid vacation (12 days), paid holidays (9 days) per year, and the potential for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance. Paid time off will be prorated to reflect part-time scheduled hours, if applicable.
