Insurity’s Next Senior Software Engineer

Join our global development team as a .NET Developer, supporting key insurance data and compliance products. This role involves full ownership of development items from design through implementation, ensuring quality, performance, and maintainability. You’ll work closely with U.S. and India-based teammates to build and enhance solutions that power a unified data pipeline and warehouse used for product workflows and regulatory compliance submissions.

We’re seeking an experienced professional with hands-on expertise in C# and VB.NET, ASP.NET MVC/MVVM frameworks, and strong development skills, along with critical thinking and a proactive approach. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with MS SQL Server and T-SQL (optimization, indexing, performance tuning). You should be confident working independently, leading initiatives, and providing mentorship within a collaborative, distributed team. Experience with modern UI technologies is a plus, as is exposure to data warehousing or regulatory compliance systems.

 

What Our Senior Software Engineer Will Do

  • Own development items end-to-end, from design to deployment, ensuring quality and scalability
  • Design and develop our product based on business requirements and help in resolving critical business issues using .NET and SQL expertise
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data, code, and performance issues using diagnostic and monitoring tools
  • Provide query writing, tuning, and data management support to internal users and stakeholders
  • Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish database best practices
  • Gather and analyze user requirements to implement new features and improvements
  • Write complex SQL code, including advanced Stored Procedures, Functions, and CTEs
  • Develop technical and training documentation to support team knowledge and onboarding
  • Refine schemas to reduce redundancy, improve performance, and ensure data integrity
  • Perform SQL Server installations, configurations, and migrations
  • Contribute to project planning, scoping, and versioning discussions and documentation
  • Assess business processes and recommend schema or process enhancements to improve data flow and accuracy
  • Input on technical design decisions and new database functionality
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, improve indexing strategies, and optimize queries
  • Collaborate with internal and external business and technical teams for information gathering and validation
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other developers
  • Adhere to coding standards, SDLC, change management, and deployment standards
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis to support reported incidents or enhancement requests
  • Provide off-hours/flex support as required
  • Stay current on emerging database trends, tools, and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Who We’re Looking For

  • 6-8 years of experience in C# & VB.NET.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (equivalent work experience may be considered)
  • High proficiency with SQL Server best practices, including storage, indexing, and security
  • Proficient in writing complex SQL code (Stored Procedures, Functions, CTEs)
  • Proficient with ASP.NET MVC/MVVM frameworks for scalable application development.
  • Understanding of OOP, design patterns, SOLID principles.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills
  • Effective time management, prioritization, and organization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive under changing requirements
  • Self-starter and quick learner with strong attention to detail
  • Active listener who collaborates effectively while working autonomously
  • Flexible, adaptable, and open to feedback
  • Experienced in meeting facilitation and process analysis, design, and management
  • Able to give and receive feedback constructively and promote continuous improvement
  • Within 6–12 months: Demonstrated ability to act as a change agent driving process and quality improvements
  • Travel: 0–10%

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with modern UI frameworks
  • Familiarity with leveraging generative AI tools to accelerate development
  • Exposure to insurance domain concepts such as policy, billing, claims, and regulatory compliance (e.g., WCPOLS, WCSTAT)
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, reporting pipelines, and enterprise data governance
