Insurity’s Next Development Manager  
Insurity is seeking a Development Manager to lead a team focused on developing and maintaining property and casualty insurance applications. This role will oversee blended teams consisting of Insurity Business Analysts and Developers.
 
What Our Development Manager Will Do   
 
  • Lead and Mentor: Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing, highly engaged technology team spanning multiple departments and functions.   
  • Hands on When Needed: Perform tasks as an individual contributor to support the team as needed.    
  • Manage Talent: Interview, hire, onboard, and retain exceptional talent.   
  • Policy and Process Reinforcement: Adopt and reinforce company policies, development processes, and programs with India team members.   
  • Process Oversight: Oversee and guide the planning, design, and delivery of new software and software updates, collaborating with development and product managers.   
  • Ensure Project Completion: Ensure software is delivered and documented according to product specifications, timelines, and quality standards.   
  • Serve as Liaison: Function as the focal point for other departments on project status, key milestones, and metrics.   
  • Relentlessly Work to Improve Products and Processes: Work closely with Product Management and Quality teams to enhance products, quality, and processes.   
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Executive Leadership and peers to establish strategy and execution plans.   
  • Engage Stakeholders: Engage and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and across functional groups.   
  • Foster Company Culture: Drive and promote the company culture that emphasizes our strategy, corporate goals, and core values.   
  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively and proactively with leadership, team members, and peers.   
 
Who We’re Looking For   
   
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Exceptional planning, communication, and presentation skills in English, with a well-rounded technical and business knowledge.   
  • Leadership Experience: Excellent leadership skills with proven experience managing software projects.   
  • Modern Delivery Expertise: Software delivery experience in a customer-centric, flexible Enterprise SaaS environment.   
  • Budget Management: Experience with budgetary responsibility for development teams.   
  • Matrix Environment Experience: Proven ability to work in a matrix environment and influence along dotted line organization models.   
  • Project Management Proficiency: Excellent project management skills with strong knowledge of project management software and version control tools.   
  • Global Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with remote and international teams.   
 
Recommended Experience   
  • 5+ years in a technology leadership position, managing people.   
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field (equivalent work experience may be considered).   
  • Master’s degree an asset.    
  • Knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance domain will be a plus.   
  • Travel within India and North America required (less than 10%).
