As the Grants & Public Funding Revenue Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health of Insight Housing. You’ll manage complex funding streams, including government grants and contracts, to support life-changing programs. You'll work with complex, multifaceted contracts, build and maintain ERP automations, and collaborate with executive leadership.  What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities:
  • Revenue Management: Accurately record, bill, and report revenue from government grants, cost-reimbursement contracts, and fee-for-service agreements.
  • Grant Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle of government grants, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and GAAP standards.
  • Billing & Reporting: Prepare and submit invoices, track deadlines, and maintain accurate records in NetSuite.
  • Revenue Recognition: Apply ASC 958 and ASC 606 standards to ensure proper revenue recognition and compliance.
  • Collaboration: Partner with program staff, funders, and leadership to maintain billing accuracy and protect cash flow.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline billing, reporting, and reconciliation processes.
  • Data Analytics: Analyze and validate data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy for billing and reporting.
  • ERP Maintenance: Build, maintain, and optimize ERP automations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
 Top 3 Must-Have Qualifications
  1. Experience: Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in revenue accounting, grant management, or contract billing with complex projects or programs.
  2. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606, with experience managing multi-element contracts in NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
  3. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
 Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience with California government contracts and grant programs.
  • Familiarity with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) and Single Audit requirements.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including nested formulas, pivot tables, and Power BI dashboard creation.
  • Prior experience in nonprofit, housing, or social services organizations.
  • Knowledge of ASC 958

 Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in Berkeley, CA. Team members typically work in-office 3-4 days per week, with Wednesdays as a key collaboration day.

Compensation: $36.05 - $48.08/hr (annual equivalent $75-$100K when working on a full-time basis)
