Walpole Co-operative Bank is seeking a Deposit Operations Officer, responsible for directing and overseeing the daily activities of the Deposit Operations Department. The Deposit Operations Officer is also responsible for working primarily in the in back office operations department, while managing a team in addition to the Bank’s Fiserv Core system processing. Additionally, you will perform specific operation and core system functions with the assistance of the Information Technology Department.

 

Deposit Operations Officer Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience of bank/deposit operations experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of bank operations and related banking regulations
  • Fiserv Premier experience is preferred
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills (written and oral)
  • High level of motivation and self-initiation
  • Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to lead and develop a successful team
  • Effective communication skills

Deposit Operations Officer Responsibilities

  • Hires, trains, actively coaches, cross-trains, appraises and evaluates staff
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate workflow to meet Bank strategic objectives
  • Direct and manage deposit functions, NEACH, NACHA, ACH, ATM, EFT, Zelle, Mobile, remote deposit, Retail Online Banking, Individual Retirement Accounts/Certificates of Deposit, Business Online Banking, item processing, accounts payable, wire transfers, and the Customer Information File (CIF) function
  • Provide Fiserv Core technical and operational support to all Bank departments; recommend and implement new processes and automation enhancements, performance metrics, and reporting
  • Keep abreast of all Fiserv Premier updates and ensures updates are effectively administered
  • Act as a resource to staff in processing transactions, research situations and reconciling items
  • Implement Fiserv Core parameter changes for the deposit area
  • Ensure Name and Address Standardization Policy is followed; keep Core clean from duplicate ports, names and addresses
  • Provide and allocate resources for projects related to the Fiserv Core; provide leadership to system improvements, service requests, and special projects
  • Provide electronic and telephone assistance to Bank customers
  • Prepare and process documentation needed for legal subpoenas; the Keeper of Records
  • Direct and manage end of year (EOY) system processes, escheatment processes, annual IRA distributions and withholding notifications
  • Monitor operating policies and procedures; ensure proper implementation and ongoing compliance
  • Keep informed of developments and regulatory changes
  • Provide due diligence in vendor systems, bank operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements; research and recommend implementation of new products and services
  • Meet compliance/audit goals and objectives, as well as company strategic goals
  • Participate in Community Reinvestment activities
