Job Summary
The Hospital Account Executive is responsible for driving sales, clinical adoption, education, and utilization of Inogen products within a defined territory. This role focuses on Hospital Systems (IDNs), Residency Programs, VA Medical Centers, hospice networks, and other identified medical facilities that utilize Inogen products, including sleep labs for current and future product offerings.
The Hospital Account Executive serves as the primary commercial contact for assigned accounts and is recognized as the Inogen product expert and field-based educator. This role ensures successful product adoption, ongoing clinical support, and long-term brand loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within VA Medical Centers, IDNs, medical facilities, sleep labs, and hospice networks.
- Engage with departments including Procurement, Respiratory Therapy, Home Oxygen, COPD Coordination, sleep labs, and respiratory specialty centers.
- Participate in product evaluations and onboarding processes, including VA committee reviews when applicable.
- Partner with key Inogen distributors to establish targets and execute co-marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with decision makers to support and expand product adoption.
- Provide clinical education and product training to clinicians across VA, IDN, and specialty medical facilities.
- Navigate VA, IDN, sleep center, hospice, and purchasing pathways effectively.
- Utilize a clinical sales methodology, confidently discussing clinical materials, data, and studies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within CRM systems.
- Represent the company at conferences, meetings, and industry events.
- Travel up to 75% as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Clinical knowledge of respiratory or pulmonary care.
- Strong sales acumen with the ability to drive adoption in complex healthcare environments.
- Ability to deliver effective clinical education and training.
- Understanding of VA and IDN organizational structures and purchasing processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related clinical field preferred.
- Sales experience required.
- 3–5+ years of relevant experience.
- Prior VA or IDN experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel.
