Job Summary

The role of the Digital Health Product Management Director is crucial in spearheading innovation and expansion through the conceptualization, development, and launch of digital health solutions. These solutions are designed to elevate patient experiences, enhance healthcare outcomes, and optimize clinical and operational processes. Working closely with multifaceted teams spanning engineering, design, regulatory affairs, sales, and clinical expertise, this position ensures the seamless development and market introduction of state-of-the-art digital health products.

These digital health solutions not only bolster Inogen's product portfolios but also foster comprehensive solutions, fostering differentiation and augmenting overall value. They play a pivotal role in advancing the digitalization of healthcare, aligning with the company's commitment to driving healthcare transformation from quantity of care to quality of care (improved clinical outcome and decreased cost).

Preferred candidate will live in the Boston, MA area and will be required to work onsite at least 3 days a week.

Responsibilities (Specific tasks, duties, essential functions of the job)

  • Product Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for digital health solutions aligned with the company's overall business objectives and market needs.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and gather customer insights to identify market opportunities and unmet needs.
  • Product Development: Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept ideation and requirements gathering to product launch and post-launch optimization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, regulatory affairs, sales, and clinical experts to ensure alignment and successful execution of product initiatives.
  • Requirements Definition: Define clear and actionable product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria based on customer needs, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
  • Roadmap Planning: Develop and maintain a product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on strategic value, technical feasibility, and market impact.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that digital health products comply with relevant regulatory standards and requirements, working closely with regulatory affairs and quality assurance teams.
  • User Experience (UX) Design: Collaborate with design teams to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces that optimize the user experience and drive product adoption.
  • Product Launch: Plan and execute successful product launches, including go-to-market strategies, marketing campaigns, and sales enablement activities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track product performance, conduct regular performance reviews, and iterate on product features based on user feedback and data analysis.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with customers, key opinion leaders, DMEs and patients to gather feedback, to test and validate product concepts directly or indirectly (through market research).
  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to identify threats and opportunities, and adjust product strategies accordingly.
  • Innovation in Business Models: Continuously explore, evaluate, and pioneer novel business models within the digital health market, leveraging insights into emerging trends, customer needs, and technological advancements to drive sustainable growth and competitive advantage.
  • Partnerships Development: Cultivate strategic partnerships including healthcare providers, technology partners, and other relevant entities, to enhance product offerings, and expand market reach.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning within the product team and across the organization.
  • Agile Software Development Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in agile software development methodologies, facilitating rapid iteration, adaptation, and collaboration within cross-functional teams. Utilize agile principles to streamline product development processes, accelerate time-to-market, and swiftly respond to changing market dynamics and customer requirements in the digital health domain.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Possess experience and thorough understanding of product management, project management, product marketing, technology products, and business finance.
  • Able to conduct custom market research, develop budgets, and collaborate with several parties simultaneously.
  • Proven experience in Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Expertise in Agile Software Development.
  • Analytical Problem-Solving skills required to identify root causes of basic technical and non-technical problems associated with advanced respiratory care products.
  • Collaboration, Teamwork and excellent communication to establish good working relationships between engineering, marketing, sales, and manufacturing.
  • Must have Flexibility and the ability to adapt to the changing internal and external variables.
  • Must be adept at Organization, Planning & Execution to manage product development and launch process.
  • Presentation skills required to build internal support for projects as well as sell customers/sales reps, etc on product and programs.
  • Able to provide clear direction for priorities and responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., FDA regulations, HIPAA compliance).

Qualifications (Experience and Education)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related technical discipline, required.
  • MS/MBA/MA, preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience as a Product Manager, required.
  • 5+ years of experience successfully managing digital health products or software solutions in the medical device industry, required.
  • Intermediate knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Office, online databases, required.
