Position Summary
Inogen is seeking a Senior Director of Downstream Marketing to lead global, omnichannel commercialization efforts for its portable oxygen and respiratory therapy portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering a market leading downstream marketing plan across consumer, healthcare professional (HCP), and channel partner audiences, driving demand, adoption, and brand awareness and leadership worldwide.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned medtech marketing leader with a strong track record of building and developing high-performing teams [of 10+ marketers], leading in a regulated global environment, and successfully balancing consumer marketing excellence with HCP trusted partnerships. This role requires strategic rigor, operational excellence, hands-on leadership and a strong ability to collaborate across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Downstream Strategy & Execution
· Lead the global downstream marketing strategy across consumer, HCP, and B2B channels, ensuring alignment with the Inogen brand platform, clinical positioning and engagement, and growth objectives.
· Collaborate with the Product Marketing team to translate upstream product strategy and value propositions into compelling messaging, campaigns, and commercial tools across all touchpoints.
· Partner on go-to-market planning for new product launches, lifecycle management initiatives, and geographic expansions.
· Drive consistent, compliant messaging across regions while enabling appropriate localization for global markets. Find creative and compelling approaches to drive awareness, conversion and prescription of best-in-class Inogen products.
Consumer & HCP Marketing Leadership
· Oversee consumer marketing including DTC campaigns, digital performance marketing, patient education, and brand storytelling.
· Lead HCP marketing for pulmonologists, sleep specialists, homecare providers, and discharge planners, including promotional campaigns, clinical education, congress support, and sales enablement.
· Ensure marketing strategies effectively address both clinical decision-making and consumer purchase behaviors in a complex healthcare ecosystem.
Global Commercial Enablement
· Partner closely with global sales, market access, medical affairs, and regional commercial teams to drive aligned execution.
· Develop sales enablement tools, training programs, and playbooks to support global field organizations and distribution partners.
· Support global distributors and international markets with scalable assets and frameworks.
Team Leadership & Development
· Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary downstream marketing organization of 10+ professionals, including managers and junior marketers.
· Build a strong leadership bench, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development.
· Attract, retain, and develop top marketing talent with clear career paths and performance expectations.
Performance, Analytics & Compliance
· Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure campaign effectiveness, pipeline impact, and ROI across channels.
· Leverage customer insights, market research, and analytics to inform strategy and optimize performance.
· Ensure all marketing activities adhere to regulatory, legal, and compliance standards across global markets.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
· 12+ years of progressive marketing experience within medical device, medtech, or regulated healthcare environments.
· Demonstrated success leading downstream marketing across both consumer (DTC) and HCP-focused strategies.
· Proven people leader with experience managing and developing teams of at least 10 marketers, including people managers.
· Experience operating in a global commercial environment, including support of international markets and regional teams.
· Strong understanding of regulated marketing, medical/legal review processes, and healthcare compliance.
· Strategic thinker with the ability to operate at both executive and executional levels.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in respiratory, durable medical equipment (DME), or chronic care categories a plus.
· Track record of successful product launches and large-scale integrated campaigns.
· Strong digital marketing and omnichannel expertise, including performance media and CRM across both consumer and HCP stakeholder groups.
· Experience partnering closely with sales leadership and commercial operations.

Inogen assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees.  The base salary for this position is expected to be between $192,000.00 and $240,000.00 annually. However, actual base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and will be based on non-discriminatory factors, including as to individual skills, education, experience and market location.
