Internship – 1D Dynamic Simulations for Engine Development (m/f/d)

Description

We are looking for a proactive and adaptable person to join our mechanical simulation team in Jenbach Austria as an Intern - 1D Dynamics Simulation. In this role, you will have a vital role in ensuring the quality and performance of our innovative gas engines. We are a forward-thinking and green-oriented company in the middle of the Alps with an international team of skilled colleagues. You will work closely with Production and Application Engineering to support product development and provide design advice for Jenbacher and Waukesha high performance industrial reciprocating gas engines. This internship lasts for a maximum of 6 months. An internship is a perfect start for a long-term career at INNIO and offers extension options as well as potential permanent employment opportunities.

Your Responsibilities:    

  • Work in a global engineering team on Finite Element method development for core engine components for use across INNIO Jenbacher products
  • Deep dive into 1D Dynamic modeling of core engine components (Valvetrain & Torsional Vibration Analysis) and work closely with our technical experts
  • Verify the models to existing test data and potentially develop improved test methods to close gaps in understanding
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and broaden your technical knowledge while deepening your understanding of industrial gas engines business

Your Profile:    

  • In possession of, or working towards, a Bachelor/Master of Science/Engineering in Mechanical engineering
  • Passion for mechanical engineering, structural analysis and reciprocating gas engines
  • Strong interest in simulation
  • Strong interest and experience with Python and data visualization methods
  • Self-driven, curious and analytical thinking.
  • Problem solving attitud
  • Solid communication skills in English

The base pay is composed of the amount according to the Austrian collective agreement which is at least EUR 2.548,82 gross per month (x 14).
