As Director Business Development for Waukesha Engines you will report directly to the Global VP of Sales and Services, Waukesha. Your focus will be on developing partnerships, creating demand, identifying, and developing paths to market serve target customers with the highest possible level of value.
In this role you will :
· Champion, develop, and manage strategic partnerships that augment our offering beyond what we currently offer. This may include complementary products and services that help complete our value offering to end user customers and enable us to win new share and achieve financial targets.
· Develop strong relationships with C-Suite executives, overall influencers, and decision makers to strengthen opportunity for share gain. Proactively seek and advance opportunities to broaden offering to existing customer base and initiate relationships with new customers, including participating in or leading bid and tender activity.
· Work closely with the Marketing/Product Management team to provide the necessary direct or channel infrastructure required to bring new solutions to market, specifically in segment that are not currently covered by our sales team and channels.
· Develop a pipeline of local, regional, and global potential targets for M&A, working closely with Waukesha’s business leadership and the Marketing department.
· Define, shape, drive and execute the growth strategy with business plans that bring new solutions to the market in support of short and long-term strategic goals.
· Identify and nurture opportunities in their earliest stage (pre-prospect) before they are handed off to the sales team for traditional sales management.
· Ideate, develop, launch, and manage campaigns aimed at conquering new market segments in conjunction with the marketing team
· Collect market intelligence and share with the rest of the organization, also serving as a conduit for new product innovation ideas generation.
Your profile :
· Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field. Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, also considered along with business experience in sales and business development. MBA preferred
· 10-15 years’ sales and/or marketing experience in energy industry with expertise in Oil and Gas, with specific knowledge of power generation. Previous role in business development a plus.
· Thorough knowledge and excellent understanding of both internal and external Oil and Gas market
· Experience in channel management/ distributor management a plus
· Working knowledge of Salesforce.com
· Self-motivated and goal oriented with highest standards of compliance
· Strong communication and presentation skills. Flexibility and adaptability to different functions to lead team without authority.
· Exceptional negotiation skills
· Proven ability to influence at all levels
· Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for business growth, creative thinking, and problem solving.
· Willing & able to travel up to 50% globally.
