What are we looking for?
Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, the Continuous Improvement Technician Co-op will support manufacturing operations by designing and fabricating manufacturing aids and contributing to lean and process improvement projects.
Co-op Term Duration: May 2026 - September 2026  
Essential Responsibilities 
  • Using CAD software to design manufacturing aids including shadow boards and jigs 
  • Safely operating a CNC router to complete fabrication projects with various materials 
  • Using hand tools to assemble signage, dashboards, and fixtures
  • Conduct time studies and workflow analyses to identify bottlenecks and recommend Lean improvements (e.g., waste reduction, process standardization) 
  • Actively participate in and support Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives and drive change within the organization
  • Assist in the implementation and sustainment of Lean tools (e.g., 5S, visual management, standard work,..)
  • Support the Continuous Improvement Department with administrative and project management tasks as required 
  • Collecting and analyzing process data. Preparing reports and presenting results 
Qualifications/Requirements 
  • In process of completing a diploma in a related discipline, such as Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or machining 
  • Experience working within a manufacturing setting 
Desired Characteristics 
  • Experience with AutoCAD software and blueprint reading 
  • Ability to use common metrology tools including calipers and micrometers 
  • Experience using CNC machines and hand tools safely 
  • Proficient in Microsoft O365 software, such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint 
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma/5S tools an asset
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; able to prioritize and deliver objectives within established timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional, customer-focused attitude.
