The outbound scope primarily covers short-term international travel, training assignments, temporary assignments and other cross-border work-related activities and associated immigration and work authorization requirements. The role serves as a central internal point of contact for U.S. immigration and outbound mobility matters and ensures that immigration and mobility processes are managed in a legally compliant, timely and consistent manner.

The U.S Global Mobility Expert works closely with HR, EU Global Mobility Team, Tax, business stakeholders and, where required, external immigration counsel. A key objective of the role is to build and maintain strong internal U.S. immigration capabilities and manage standard cases in-house wherever legally and operationally appropriate.

Role Objective:

A core objective is to maximize internal handling of standard immigration and mobility matters through appropriate professional training, strong internal expertise, high-quality legal and regulatory research, effective process design and the responsible use of approved AI tools. Use internal expertise, professional training, approved AI tools and authoritative research sources to support the assessment and preparation of standard cases, while ensuring that matters requiring formal legal advice are appropriately escalated.
  • Drive continuous improvement and increased internal ownership of U.S. immigration processes, with the clear objective of minimizing reliance on external immigration providers by building strong internal expertise, effective processes and appropriate AI-supported workflows, while ensuring appropriate legal escalation for complex, exceptional or high-risk cases.
