As part of the Engineering Quality team, the Product Safety Engineer works across the business to ensure safe product through the complete lifecycle, starting from regulatory requirements and industry best practice, supporting new product development, and resolving issues reported from the field. Your Responsibilities:
  • Creation and update of safety risk analyses for products and safety-critical systems.
  • Ensuring compliance of product and assessment methods to the requirements of the EU Machinery Directive and Machinery Regulation, EN ISO 12100, EN ISO 13849 (Functional Safety) and the applicable product standards
  • Create and run reliability and event models to inform decision-making
  • Provide support for internal teams (e.g. sales, engineering, service) to improve product and plant safety awareness. Capture and communicate best practices.
  • Execution and presentation of product safety and technical compliance reviews.
  • Evaluation of complex information, distinguishing factors clearly for relevance, significance, and dependency; to draw accurate conclusions, and to create robust positions which can be applied beyond the problem at hand.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure resolution of product safety and technical compliance issues.
Your Profile:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, experience regarding products and safety-critical systems and related processes 
  • Proven knowledge of or interest in technical issue resolution or requirements management e.g. in product safety, technical compliance, product engineering, reliability engineering or quality engineering. 
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential; a working knowledge of German is an advantage 
  • Basic familiarity with global safety requirements and standards and broad interest in global affairs, energy and environment, and the interaction of business with regulatory matters 
  • Desire to work in cross-functional teams in a large organization to deliver focused problem-solving under pressure 
  • Occasional travel (maximum 15% of working time) to collaborate and train with headquarters team or work on regulatory topics with external partners
