Description

As the Director of Quality at INNIO Waukesha Gas Engines, Inc., you will be at the forefront of quality assurance, reporting directly to the V.P. of Operations. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our products and services consistently meet the highest quality standards.   
  • You will have the opportunity to establish and implement a strategic quality plan that aligns with INNIO's global quality standards, including an annual quality management plan, and QA/QC goals and KPIs.
  • You will spearhead improvement initiatives, ensuring product compliance with engineering specifications throughout all phases of engine manufacturing, testing, and dispatch.
  • Utilizing Lean Six Sigma Quality engineering principles and your strong leadership skills, you will guide, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a culture of first-time product quality, productivity improvement, and customer satisfaction.
  • You will ensure that our Quality Leads, product & manufacturing engineers are effectively resolving field complaints, applying necessary corrective & preventive actions within the production value stream.
  • Collaborating with functional operations leaders, you will ensure timely resolution of product quality issues, always prioritizing customer product delivery dates.
  • You will work in tandem with supplier quality management to safeguard our plant from inbound supplier quality issues.
  • You will lead ongoing quality system development and process audit activities across the business unit.
  • You will have the responsibility of reporting to top management on the performance of the Quality Management System (QMS), highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Acting as a liaison with external parties, you will represent INNIO on matters related to the quality system.
  • You will identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues.
  • You will drive continuous improvement and innovation in the quality control process.
  • You will develop and maintain the department budget for operating and capital expenditures.
  • You will also have dotted line responsibility of the Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) organization.
We're looking for someone who:   
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Quality, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering. If you've earned a master’s degree in a related field, that's even better!
  • Has spent more than a decade in Quality Assurance/Quality Control, with at least half of that time leading teams.
  • Is well-versed in product Quality and Reliability methodologies like MTBF, FMEA, Causal Effects Analysis, 8D, 5 Whys, and more.
  • Boasts excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Has certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) - these are a big plus!
  • Has hands-on experience with ISO 9001 & TS/ IATF16949 quality systems.
  • Holds a Green Belt in Six Sigma and has a solid understanding of Lean principles.
  • Is a strong analytical thinker with problem-solving & communication skills.
  • Has excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills and is customer-focused and enthusiastic.
  • Has a strong customer orientation, a sense of urgency, and a growth mindset.
  • Is a team player who has proven mentoring and coaching abilities, and has demonstrated the ability to motivate, inspire others, and drive change within the organization to meet team goals/objectives.
