The Warehouse Associate / Forklift Operator (1st Shift) will be a key team member responsible for ensuring smooth material handling & movement through the Research & Development (R&D) Lab, maintaining stock levels of consumables, preparing packages for shipment, and managing the warehouse for stored lab equipment.  
 
The R&D Lab operates full-scale Waukesha engine assets (400 to 5000+ HP), advanced data collection and emissions measurement technology, and a suite of infrastructure/tools to test the full operating envelope of our products and simulate actual customer conditions.
 
This is a 1st shift position with flexible work hours & schedule opportunities available. 
 
Essential Responsibilities
 
  • Administration and management of open material requests from the engineering team
  • Logistics support including material receipt, stocking, sorting, delivery, and counting transactions
  • Prepare material for shipping, including packaging items and loading and unloading trucks
  • Ensure materials are counted and sorted appropriately in support of in-lab testing or outside field validation projects
  • Responsible for keeping records of all products shipped and received by the company and ensuring that corresponding documentation is filed and maintained accurately
  • Verify incoming shipments by reviewing and matching shipping documents against purchase orders
  • Maintain inventory and stock levels for lab consumables
  • Safe operation of equipment, lifting devices, powered industrial vehicles (forklift, scissor lift, etc.) 
  • Follow maintenance schedules and perform equipment inspections to ensure proper and safe operation
  • Inventory management of lab warehouse (material movement, documentation of storage locations, drive agreement of storage timeframes, communicate expiration of items, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a team setting with a positive and professional attitude
Qualifications/Requirements (Required)
 
  • High school diploma and a combination of relevant experience.
  • Technical aptitude including computer usage, basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, and Excel), etc.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a warehouse, materials management, or similar position.
  • Oracle or similar ERP system experience a plus.
  • Organizational skills required to effectively handle and prioritize multiple tasks and perform detail-oriented work.
  • Occasionally lift a maximum of 40 lbs.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Team player who is accountable for team’s success: delivering business targets and responsibility for decisions and outcomes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to give and receive feedback.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and perform a variety of tasks and roles within the test lab environment.
