The EHS Coordinator supports the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the facility's Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs and ISO 14001 / ISO 45001-certified management systems. This role partners with operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, contractors, and site leadership to promote a proactive safety and environmental culture; ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company requirements; reduce risk; prevent injuries and environmental incidents; and support achievement of EHS objectives and targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day EHS compliance activities for a manufacturing environment, including hazard identification, risk assessment, corrective actions, inspections, audits, and employee engagement.
- Maintain and improve site EHS management system processes aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, including documented information, operational controls, objectives and targets, internal audits, management review inputs, corrective actions, and continual improvement activities.
- Monitor applicable OSHA, EPA, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), local, and company EHS requirements; communicate changes; and support implementation of required controls.
- Conduct and/or coordinate EHS inspections, compliance audits, ISO internal audits, risk assessments, job safety analyses, ergonomic reviews, environmental aspect/impact evaluations, and management system gap assessments.
- Lead or support incident, near-miss, injury, spill, environmental deviation, and property-damage investigations; identify root causes; track corrective and preventive actions to closure; and verify effectiveness.
- Develop, deliver, coordinate, and document EHS training for employees, supervisors, contractors, and visitors, including onboarding and required refresher training.
- Support programs such as lockout/tagout, machine guarding, electrical safety, powered industrial trucks, crane/hoist safety, walking-working surfaces, PPE, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, confined space, hot work, hazard communication, contractor safety, emergency response, and ergonomics, as applicable.
- Support environmental compliance programs including waste management, hazardous waste, universal waste, recycling, air emissions, wastewater/stormwater, spill prevention, chemical management, and related permit, inspection, and reporting obligations.
- Maintain EHS records, metrics, dashboards, training records, inspection logs, SDS/chemical inventories, permits, waste manifests, incident records, and compliance calendars.
- Coordinate and participate in EHS committees, toolbox talks, safety observations, gemba walks, and employee engagement activities.
- Support emergency preparedness and response planning, drills, evacuation procedures, spill response readiness, first aid/AED coordination, and business continuity interfaces.
- Assist departments in developing and maintaining safe work instructions, standard operating procedures, risk controls, and environmental operational controls.
- Work with supervisors and employees to reinforce safe behaviors, stop-work expectations, hazard reporting, and timely resolution of unsafe conditions.
- Interface with external auditors, regulatory agencies, consultants, vendors, waste haulers, contractors, and corporate EHS resources as needed.
- Support contractor and project EHS reviews, including pre-job risk assessments, permit requirements, and verification of safe work practices.
- Promote continual improvement by analyzing trends, identifying leading indicators, recommending improvements, and supporting EHS action plans.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field; equivalent EHS experience may be considered.
- 2+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, or related operations.
- Working knowledge of OSHA general industry requirements and environmental compliance obligations applicable to manufacturing operations.
- Experience supporting EHS audits, inspections, incident investigations, corrective actions, and training programs.
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work effectively with production employees, supervisors, managers, contractors, and external parties.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS data/recordkeeping systems.

- Work Schedule – Onsite 5 days per week
