Lead Design Engineer
Description
As a Lead Design Engineer in Product Development at INNIO, you will be responsible for leading and driving the development of engine concepts and functions within a specific engineering discipline. You may assign tasks within the team as needed, and provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers on development processes, methodologies, engine systems and functionalities, as well as quality tools and techniques.

Year Responsibilities:
- Technically lead and manage a team of ~2 design engineers (without direct reporting line) to execute the development of engine components and systems for new product introduction, new technology introduction and improvement of existing products.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to other engineers within the team regarding development process, design & development methodology, as well as quality tools and techniques.
- Supervision and quality control of design standards within the local design team including drawing and BOM review
- Act as single point of contact to the headquarter technical team
- Close collaboration to the crossfunctional team such as analysis team, validation team, sourcing, manufacturing
- Witness assembly tests in Austria HQ and support supplier audits
Your Profile:
- PhD, Bachelor or master’s degree in desing engineering or similar
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the field of design
- Comprehensive experience in designing cast parts, fabricated structural parts and machined components
- Excellent English skills written and spoken, German skills are beneficial
- Expert knowledge in Catia V5
- Creo skills are beneficial
- Advanced skills in drawing creation with respect to ISO tolerance systems
- Hands-on and quality focused, eager to learn
- Reciprocating engine experience is a benefit
- Strong communications skills
- Experienced in leading, coaching and supervising people
- Project Lead experience
- Willingness to travel up to 20%
