Position Overview:
The Customer Project Manager supports the execution of customer projects from order intake through commissioning and handover. Working closely with senior project leadership, this role helps coordinate customer requirements with internal teams across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and service functions to support successful project delivery, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction.
 
This position is based in Houston, TX – hybrid work schedule.
  
Responsibilities:
  • Support execution of customer projects from order intake through delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover  
  • Assist as a point of contact for customers, supporting communication, expectation management, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle  
  • Coordinate with cross-functional project teams, including Engineering, Product Fulfillment, Supply Chain, Finance, Logistics, Quality, Service, and Construction/Site teams  
  • Support projects involving standard and moderately complex equipment, installation activities, and balance-of-plant scope  
  • Collaborate with external partners, including EPCs, vendors, and subcontractors, to support alignment on project scope and execution  
  • Assist in development and tracking of project schedules, budgets, and risk registers to ensure alignment with project goals  
  • Monitor project progress, escalate risks or delays, and support resolution of project dependencies  
  • Support contract administration, change management, and documentation of scope changes during execution  
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements in partnership with Quality and HSE teams  
  • Prepare and deliver project updates, including internal reporting, forecasts, and customer communications  
  • Support customer site visits and field execution activities as required  
  • Maintain ERP system data for material tracking, order status, and project coordination  
  • Track and report KPIs related to project performance, material readiness, and delivery accuracy  
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support successful project execution 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a closely related technical discipline) 
  • Five (5) or more years of project management or project coordination experience within power generation, energy, oil & gas, or industrial equipment environments  
  • Experience supporting customer projects, including scheduling, cost control, and risk management, with demonstrated success managing complex, customer‑facing projects and on‑site execution activities 
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and field service  
  • Experienced with using ERP systems for material tracking and planning, Oracle desired  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook  
  • Willingness to travel domestically for assigned projects; internationally occasionally as business demands  
  • Valid driver’s license and valid passport 
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future  
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Foundational understanding of engines, generators, turbines, or power generation systems and how they are applied in customer projects 
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships at both technical and executive levels  
  • Solid understanding of EPC execution models, project contracting, and coordination across multiple external partners  
  • Knowledge of commercial awareness, including contract interpretation, change management, and cost control  
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment  
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional and matrixed organizations  
  • Comfortable working with new product introductions, product enhancements, and non-standard solutions  
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, balanced with a practical execution mindset  
  • Self-directed, proactive, and adaptable, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability  
  • Adaptability and flexibility to support evolving processes and standardization efforts within the US organization  
  • Ability to work in a field or office environment 
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, talk, hear, climb, balance
