Position Overview: The Commissioning Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning activities for projects, ensuring systems and equipment are installed, tested, and operational according to specifications and safety standards. This role manages schedules, resources, and stakeholder communication to deliver successful project start-up and handover.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for reciprocating engine systems and associated auxiliary systems.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with engineering, project management, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration.
• Lead the execution of pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Supervise and manage commissioning engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• manage commissioning job time booking efficiently to ensure accurate cost allocation
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to commissioning staff.
• Monitor team performance and ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Ensure that Jenbacher gas engines and associated systems (fuel, lubrication, cooling, electrical) are commissioned in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and project specifications.
• Review and validate test reports, performance data, and final acceptance documentation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for commissioning activities with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Prepare and present progress reports, commissioning results, and risk assessments to management and clients.
• Ensure that all commissioning activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Investigate and report any incidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed commissioning documentation, including test results, performance data, and commissioning completion certificates.
• Ensure that all commissioning records are accurate and handed over to the operations team.
• Facilitate a smooth handover to the operations and maintenance teams, including training on equipment operation.
• Identify opportunities for improving commissioning processes and implement best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in reciprocating engine technology and commissioning techniques.
• Performs other duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity

Eligibility Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Years of experience in lieu of degree
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in commissioning reciprocating engines, including experience in power plants or industrial applications.
•Prior experience in a leadership or managerial role in commissioning.
•In-depth knowledge of reciprocating engines, generators, and auxiliary systems.
•Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
•Familiarity with commissioning software and tools, as well as diagnostic and testing equipment.
•Excellent communication and leadership skills.
•Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
•Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
•Willingness to travel within North America (~20%)
