Position Overview:

 

The Quality Platform Lead will directly oversee, and lead quality initiatives related to the Waukesha product lines. This includes managing the quality discipline supported by all relevant company functions related to engineering, sourcing, quality and services, to ensure all product quality defects and non-conformities are tracked, actionized and resolved in a timely manner.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for Quality Key Performance Indicators relevant to engine platforms, cross-functional areas, and quality processes.
  • Leading issue screening and continuous improvement processes.
  • Driving quality plans and meeting production targets.
  • Performing both servicing and packaging audits.
  • Managing and controlling quality costs that are supported by management.
  • Leading and championing reviews on quality issues; leading and facilitating root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action.
  • Performing field failure and reliability analysis based on product performance in the field to identify top field failure modes and driving resolution through cross functional teams to meet or exceed customer defect targets.
  • Promoting Lean Six Sigma integration by promoting the strength of both methods to achieve business goals
  • Leading and being a team member on multiple projects simultaneously within stringent time constraints, using discretion and independent judgment with the ability to maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers, stakeholders and clients
  • Accountable for launch and change control of relevant platform developments, including the release of new engines

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience; in the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Mechatronics) is preferred.
  • Exposure working with new product development and design engineering of combustion engines or similar industrial products. Creo CAD and hands-on experience beneficial.
  • Solid Lean, continuous improvement and root cause analysis background with prior process improvement assignments Skilled at efficiently analyzing engineering data, and translating complex findings into clear, compelling cases for leadership.
  • Familiarity with product Quality and Reliability methodologies including, MTBF, FMEA, Causal Effects Analysis, 8D, 5 Whys etc.
  • Outstanding communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, paired with a proactive, customer-first mindset and genuine enthusiasm.
  • Digital Tools & Advanced Office Skills:  Skilled in utilizing web-based platforms and collaborative tools for data management, reporting, and teamwork. Demonstrated expertise in MS Office applications, with emphasis on advanced Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, automation) and PowerPoint for effective technical reporting and presentations.
  • Certified Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma would be a plus.
  • Tech Adoption: Enthusiasm for implementing new technologies and digital solutions.
  • Resilience & Influence: Maintains high performance under pressure while effectively securing stakeholder buy-in for quality initiatives.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time This position requires the ability to travel without restrictions within the United States, between the U.S. and Canada, and internationally.
