Role Summary/Purpose: 
The Lead Manufacturing Engineer - Machining is responsible for CNC programming, machining process development, validation, and documentation for new and remanufactured components used in large industrial gas engines at the Waukesha manufacturing facility. Provide technical guidance and solve problems through analysis and leveraging multiple sources of information to deliver a high-quality product to our customers while maintaining a safe working environment.
Essential Responsibilities:  
  • Develop and implement CNC programs for various types of machinery
  • Use CAD/CAM software to create and optimize machining processes
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and workflows to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special services, formation and trends.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Interface with vendors and internal contacts in an effective manner to ensure that the technical and EHS perspective is properly conveyed
Qualifications/Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 – 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes
  • Proven experience in CNC programming and machining.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software.
  • Ability to Prove out New Programs with machine operators
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
  • Understanding of GD&T tolerancing and function.
  • Familiar with gage selection and inspection methods for small and large parts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
