Accounting Team Leader with payroll and travel & expense report focus

Description

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and develop the team responsible for accounting operations (mainly payroll accounting & travel and expense reports control and accounting, GL bookkeeping of @ 15 Non-EU countries, coordinating global BPO) for dedicated regions, driving a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
  • Coordinate and manage the month-end closing process and manage account reconciliations
  • Own the various accounting processes through completeness check to invoice distribution, including process gap/issue identification, root cause analysis and gap/issue closing. 
  • Own accounting KPIs, maintain, enhance and improve accounting timeliness and accounting completeness for different regions
  • Build and leverage relationships with all functions (Regional Services, Sales, GSCM, AP, AR, Treasury, FP&A, Group Accounting) to establish accounting communications and action plans
  • Aim to maximize potential, increasing efficiency and cost reduction, while still maintaining accounting correctness, completeness, timeliness and quality output
  • Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates an effective workforce and delegates/monitors accounting activities for efficient operations
  • Effectively and timely communicating issues among internal and external stakeholders
  • Establishes and sustains a culture that promotes a safe and positive work environment  

Your profile:

  • Degree from an accredited university in Economics, Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • At least 5-10 years’ experience in Accounting
  • Advanced command of English
  • Proficient in Oracle or other ERP systems & Microsoft Office
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and influencing skills
  • Strong oral, written and telephonic communications skills both in English and Hungarian
  • Capable of designing, selling and implementing solutions, process improvements
