Description
As a Thermofluids - Advanced Engineer at INNIO Poland you will be to work closely with Design, Production, and Application Engineering to support product development and provide design guidance. In this role you will work systematically to make informed decisions and apply skills in the areas of 1D Hydraulic and Thermodynamic simulations and, secondarily, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models, to issues of moderate complexity. The Advanced Engineer is based out of INNIO's Warsaw, Poland office and is primary responsible for constructing 1D system circuit models for the accurate simulation of natural gas engine lubrication and cooling systems, correlating model results with test data, and developing design predictability to speed up Time to Market.

Your responsibilities:
- Familiar with the design requirements of reciprocating engine’s critical components such as lubrication and cooling pumps, heat exchangers, and other engine cooling components and systems to assess critical to quality (CTQ’s) performance for each of these components and their impacts on overall system performance
- Constructing accurate 1D hydraulic and, optionally 3D CFD models, to conduct various analyses of the engine cooling and lubrication systems under a variety of steady-state and transient operation.
- Ability to critically interpret 1D and CFD results to quantify hardware impacts on component and/or engine performance to help drive the engine design and address issues that arise during the engine development process.
- Must be able to provide required inputs from model and drawing study to support FEA and CFD team to analyze and improve current designs including detailing the required boundary conditions.
- Define simulation, experimental project requirements and objectives, generate statements of work, define timelines, and ensure on-time completion of projects.
- Develop domain expertise and share knowledge with peers and the engineering community through technical reports.
- Must possess excellent verbal, written communication skills and strong technical presentation skills.
- Must possess a strong desire to learn, investigate, and solve technical issues in a collaborative team environment.
Your profile:
- Minimum of bachelor’s with master’s degree or higher preferred in Mechanical Engineering or another engineering discipline with mechanical work experience
- 6+ years’ experience (preferred) in hydraulic-thermofluid and CFD modeling. Conjugate heat transfer analyses of engine component and systems (preferably those of natural gas engines)
- Prior experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task.
- Operates daily with a sense of urgency, ownership, and commitment to team.
- Using GT-Suite/GT-Power and CFD using ANSYS CFX and CONVERGE is a plus.
- Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with customers.
- Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
