The Lead Financial Analyst – Engineering (m/f/d) is a key Finance partner to the Engineering and Digital departments, providing financial oversight and driving performance transparency across the INNIO Group.
This role is to be filled in Jenbach in Tyrol, Austria.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Own the Engineering/Digital financial closing process, including preparation and posting of manual journal entries, accruals and reclasses where required, as well as validation of actuals, cost allocations and capitalization logic, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Group Controlling standards.
- Lead Engineering/Digital forecasting and budgeting cycles, including coordination with Engineering, Digital, Group FP&A and other Finance controlling teams, validation of planning assumptions, and timely submission of data into the relevant financial planning systems.
- Independently assess financial performance, distinguish most likely versus best-case scenarios, and proactively highlight financial risks, opportunities and constraints to support informed decision-making.
- Act as a hands-on and independent Finance counterpart to Engineering/Digital leadership, providing fact-based challenge, financial transparency and decision-oriented recommendations.
- Partner with Engineering and Digital stakeholders to identify cost optimization opportunities, link financial results to operational drivers and influence decision-making through structured financial analysis.
- Perform financial validation of Engineering/Digital R&D programs and provide guidance on cost capitalization criteria according to US GAAP and IFRS (OPEX vs CAPEX).
- Support the annual funding request submission of INNIO’s R&D programs to the Austrian state authorities, including FFG-related processes.
- Support BI redesign for Engineering/Digital KPIs to enable transparency, flexibility, sustainability, deeper analysis and efficient reporting solutions.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor's/master’s degree in accounting/finance/economics/business administration.
- Several years of relevant professional experience in controlling and accounting, ideally within an industrial or technology-driven environment.
- Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change.
- Excellent communication skills and assertiveness: experience working across multiple levels and functions; clearly communicate complex financial information.
- Strong MS-Office skills: experience with financial systems/applications, strong Excel skills.
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with recurring peak periods during closing and planning cycles.
